Exploring the process of adding and subtracting until a balance is found. Using various methods of layering and piecing together fragments through mixed media, transfers and then scraping, sanding and peeling off – metaphorically delving deeper to discover what lies beneath and our hidden strengths.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

This piece encapsulates the joys of summer for me and was so much fun to work on – an uplifting, playful piece to bring colour and intrigue to any home. Part of the ‘Delving Beneath Series’ – this painting was created near the end of the first 2020 lockdown. I used various methods of layering acrylic and pieced together fragments through mixed media, transfers and then worked back into the surface through drawing, scraping and sanding.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with cold wax layers.

Ssummer landscape with fields golden and ready for the harvest.
Silbury Hill is a prehistoric artificial chalk mound near Avebury in the English county of Wiltshire. It is part of the Stonehenge, Avebury and Associated Sites UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are lucky to live near these sites and this landscape is based on a recent visit to walk around the hill.
Summer Haze is a late summer’s eve landscape with the pink sky showing as the sun dips down the back. The fields are full of wildflowers.
Thin Red Line is a summer evening landscape inspired by the beautiful colours in the sky as the sun goes down at the end of the day.
This piece is based on the hills that is the home of the Westbury White Horse. As you drive by it is always a great place to spot the high flying gliders in the sky.
