Pam Hutchings
I trained at Manchester School of Art and Design specialising in Graphic Design and I made a living practicing this profession in Germany and the UK.
This design background invariably influences the composition of my pictures and, living in North Devon, my subject matter is dictated by the stunning landscapes and seascapes of the area. I enjoy the freedom of making bold, expressive marks which are, more often than not, very textural. I really enjoy experimenting with unusual papers and collage and I use many different media - applied with paint brush, palette knife, roller, or whatever comes to hand - to help interpret the subject or scene with as much drama as possible.
