Description
Soft pastel painting of a typical West Country nature scene in early spring: woodland and a sea of lovely snowdrops emerging from the deep red and brown autumn leaves. The viewer has a sweeping view over the flowers and in the background a slope with trees through which one can see parts of a cool blue sky.
The stars of the painting are the snowdrops, either as individual flowers like in the foreground, or, in the distance, creating a vast white carpet covering the dark ground.
