ALEXANDRA LAVIZZARI
Oil painting of an old disused quarry somewhere in Eastern France. For a change I wanted to paint a landscape which bears the marks of industrial exploitation and show that one can find beauty in it, even though it seems wounded and has lost its pristine idyllic look.
I have used palette knives for this artwork with the idea to somehow reproduce on the painting surface the hard cuts into the earth which were made during the use of the quarry.
The picture comes in a beautiful bespoke cream white frame.
