Inspired by the exquisite Devon landscape surrounding my home studio. This piece encapsulates the joys of summer for me and was so much fun to work on – an uplifting, playful piece to bring colour and intrigue to any home. Part of the ‘Delving Beneath Series’ – this painting was created near the end of the first 2020 lockdown. I used various methods of layering acrylic and pieced together fragments through mixed media, transfers and then worked back into the surface through drawing, scraping and sanding.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

I have also added fossil transfers and tapped into my love for the unique textures that occur on weathered walls, old billboards and rusting metal, showing the scars of time.
