Inspired by the endless detail and interesting green reeds and giant pickrel weeds growing wildly in a local pond, that I saw on a family walk in Penallta park, Caerphilly, South Wales, From marginals, to pickrel, to dried out reeds, the native ponds we have around are teeming with life and inspiration. Throw in the blue, almost cloudless skies and the outlines of budding tree leaves, this painting brings all these elements together in a impressionistic and loosely painted composition.
