St Mary’s Loch is the largest natural loch in the Scottish Borders, and is situated on the south side of the A708 road between Selkirk and Moffat, about 72 Km south of Edinburgh.

Whilst traveling north to the Scottish Highlands, I was mesmerised by the landscapes I was seeing. This was my first trip to see the majestic landscapes of the Highlands, and I simply wasn’t prepared for the beauty I was seeing. Finally a layby lined up nicely with one of those incredible views, and it led to this image.

I spent half a day on the Isle of Skye, I could have spent a lifetime. Around every corner is a new view that takes your breath away, the contrast between the black rocks and aray of life that peaks through them. I will be going back.

Whilst venturing over to the Isle of Skye, I happened across a layby, next to this gorgeous loch. I think my favourite shots are the unplanned ones, and this was certainly one of those.
