I like to create art everywhere I go, so my art is a bit like a travel diary. As part of my study I did six months in Australia (Newcastle, near Sydney). Seeing the colourful coastal cities gave me a love of colourful architecture that you can still see in my work today. Inspired by travel and an interest in interior design. I love to experiment with colour palettes. I later trained to teach people with visual impairments to travel. By coincidence the theme of orientation in cities is closely tied to the art I was already making. I investigate how we explore the urban environment, slowly building a mental map with our personal landmarks. Increasingly I am incorporating nature into my art. I sell colourful oil paintings; these are from my first ventures in painting oils outside. Currently they are based on locations around Wiltshire, including Avebury.
