Julie Chadbourne
Julie is an artist whose work is deeply influenced by her extensive travels, particularly across Africa, and her lifelong connection to the sea. Now based in Dorset, she draws inspiration from the coastline, where the ever-changing colours and moods of the ocean play a central role in her creative process. Having studied Textiles at school and at Winchester Art College, she developed a passion for fluid mediums that reflect the ocean's unpredictable nature—shifting from powerful and turbulent to peaceful and calm.
Working with acrylics, oils with cold wax, and resin, she uses a variety of tools, including brushes, palette knives, and sponges, to create complex layers that evoke the depth and movement of water. Her fascination with the natural world extends beyond oceanic themes, exploring landscapes and abstract forms with the same dynamic approach. Through her art, Julie captures the ever-changing beauty of the environment, making each piece a unique expression of nature's forces.
