I am a self taught artist exploring a range of themes with a particular emphasis on landscape painting. My painting style is bold and impressionistic. I particularly enjoy finding ways to interpret the landscape that convey the essence of place in a simplified form using colour and shape. I work with a limited palette to convey the sense of calm and joy I find in my experience of the landscape. I am mainly a studio based painter though sometimes work en plein air. I work in both acrylics and soft pastels.
