Description
Soft pastel painting of a dramatic Alpine landscape with a waterfall cascading from steep rocks. Water is always a wonderful subject for a painter, and I found contrasting this fluid and elusive element with solid rocks embedded in lush autumnal foliage a further challenge which kept me busy for quite a while.
Being Swiss, I have spent a lot of time in the mountains, not so much in the famous Berner Oberland, but rather in the Italian speaking region of Switzerland which has some stunningly wild valleys and beautiful secluded spots to explore like this waterfall.
