I'm an artist living on the outskirts of Bath in Somerset, specialising in wildlife and landscapes.

Living in Somerset I find myself spoilt for choice for painting subjects. I adore the natural world and strive to inspire others to see the beauty of the natural world through my art. Quite often I love to take a walk with my excitable Jack Russell's to find inspiration in the landscape.

In my work, I am known to use a lot of different mediums, but not always at the same time! More recently, I focus on oil and watercolours and use bright and bold colours to capture my subject, breathing life into it with my passion for the natural world.

Back in 2014, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit South Africa on a Gap Project through my college. I was studying animal management, and it was the ideal opportunity to get first-hand experience in the world of conservation, I didn't know then that it would shape my art forever from being surrounded by elephants on safari to having a memorable encounter with zebras while aiding the rangers. African animals have made their presence known in my portfolio.

In my art, I have taken part in numerous art competitions, something which I love doing! I was lucky enough to be selected in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year as a wildcard experience, a dream come true! I've also competed in Art Battle in Bristol, a live painting competition where you have 20 minutes to paint in front of a live audience and watch the piece go to a silent auction after. I love the thrill of meeting new people and taking part.

I have sold artwork all over the UK and abroad. I am proud to say I have artwork, taking pride of place in the USA and Canada to Switzerland.  I am also working on an illustrated book for a notable rhino charity to help aid conservation efforts.

Outside of the art world, I am also a published author, with two self-published novels available on Amazon. I write fantasy, also inspired by the natural world, and with a heavy layer of historical themes also. My debut novel, A Retreating Tide was released in 2016, and its a great beginning to an epic tale. Currently, I am working on the third installment and hopefully should have it completed by next year.

I have also been exhibited a few times in a gallery in Bristol, and more recently in Frome at Black Swan Arts too! I have always loved calling myself an artist and I can't wait to see where my journey takes me next!

A Walk in Seaton – Original Oil Painting

Walking my pups along this beach in the rain inspired this stunning painting. I loved the contrast of colours in the cliff face, reflecting the light of the day and still holding up against the tide.

Cheetah on the Prowl, Original Oil On Canvas

Original price was: £350.00.Current price is: £300.00.

While out in South Africa, I was helping to locate two cheetah brothers on the reserve. It had been a long trek looking for them, they were radiotagged and we used what looked like an old fashioned tv antennae to search for them, following the faint beeps through the bush.

Eventually we found them, the two brothers taking shelter beneath a large tree, while we watched, one of them slowly raised its long powerful body up through the grass, prowling slowly, as if it had spotted something. This moment I captured for this piece, a moment I hope I never forget. Such a beautiful creature.

Inspired by a moody walk across the sands, Bedruthan Steps was painted to reflect the watery reflections in the sand.  With bold marks scratched in with a pallete knife, this painting has a lot of impact,  drawing your eye in over the sands to the tactile looking rocks in the midground.

  • Evening Walk by RAWhitworthArt

    £350.00

Through the trees is inspired by a forest walk on holiday in Cornwall. Following the path through the trees, evening draws close, the shadows are long, stretching across the mossey floor, golden light pours through the canopy above, beckoning us onward.
