  • A PAUSE IN HISTORY BY LISA PARKYN

    £500.00

Created as part of ‘Delving Beneath Series’ – a body of work started during 2020 pandemic lockdown, which has helped me make sense of the shifts going on around the world and reflect on what is meaningful in life.

I tapped into my love for the unique textures that occur in nature, on weathered walls, old billboards and rusting metal – the scars of time, symbolising memories and keepsakes.

Exploring the process of adding and subtracting until a balance is found. Using various methods of layering and piecing together fragments through mixed media and then scraping, sanding and peeling off – metaphorically delving deeper to discover what lies beneath and our hidden strengths.

    Framed size 35 x 35cm
    Image size 30.5 x 30.5cm
Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel.
Ready to hang in an off-white tray frame.
The painting is initialed on the front, signed on the back and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.
