Description

PETER WISEMAN

Part of the series of images designed to reflect upon and describe experiences during a year plagued by a pandemic and social/political unrest. With lockdown restrictions meaning I couldn’t visit friends and family, and they couldn’t visit me, I’ve tried to portray the feeling of being locked in and locked out at the same time (is the viewer looking out from the inside or in from the outside?), and the fear in times of lockdown that there would always be barriers restricting normal life. This is a highly manipulated digital photo with high contrast and colour saturation to create bold hues of red conjure sentiments of anger, frustration, and fear, with close cropped heavy frames and bars reference jail or imprisonmen
