Description
Soft pastel painting of an old garden wall with a little sparrow watching from a snug and protected view point.
My emphasis in this painting was actually not the sparrow but the bricks and stones with there various textures and colours which make up the wall. It is a detail of my own garden wall, partly in typical red Somerset sandstone.
The colour scheme is reduced to warm reds, pinks and browns, and it allows for focusing on the shapes and surfaces in which the little sparrow creates a lively diversion.
