Description
A soft pastel painting of a kingfisher with a freshly caught fish in its beak. The bird is sitting on a mossy branch and set against a background of trees and a gently flowing river.
The kingfisher is painted in great detail, one can even see some water droplets on its bright orange chest feathers. In wildlife painting it is a classic; the vibrant and very striking colours of its feathers make it a popular art subject. I have done several kingfishers so far and found that its popularity is indeed great among bird lovers.
