An oil on wood 20 x 20 cm fine art piece of two vibrant koi fish gracefully swim in a serene framed box underwater scene in Trompe L’oeil style. The wooden frame enhances the illusion of a window into an aquatic world, giving the entire artwork a three-dimensional, immersive quality.
A oil on wood painting of a small owl flying out of a frame in Trompe L’oeil style. The wood base has been cut to enhance the illusion of the owl coming out of the box, and the oil painting consists of both frame and owl. The aim of this piece is to combine the…
The piece depicts a small box of old books encased in a small wooden box with two mice looking inquisitively at the viewer. The titles of the books are relevant and pertinent to the scene, especially the book entitled “The Silver Spoon” as there is a silver spoon in the box. The Silver Spoon; 20cm…

An acrylic painting depicting a cute rabbit poking his head out of a wooden box with a central perspective in Trompe L’Oeil style. The piece captures a moment of curiosity and innocence, inviting viewers to engage with a rabbit as if it were peering out of a real wooden box, acknowledging their presence. The realism effect enhances this illusion, creating a sense of depth that blurs the line between art and reality. This piece would be perfect for a farmhouse kitchen, adding a touch of the outdoors to the indoor space.
A pair of baby robins nestled inside a wooden box, this piece aims to evoke a sense of wonder and intimacy, as though the viewer has stumbled upon a hidden moment of nature frozen in time. The acrylic painting is in Trompe L’oeil style which tricks the eye into perceiving three-dimensionality on a flat surface. The expressive contrast between the two baby robins invites interpretation and creates a narrative allowing viewers to form their own emotional connection with the scene and appreciate the delicate balance between illusion and reality.

St.Nectan’s Glen Waterfall. Cornwall, U.K.
Inspired by a recent visit having not been there for many years. It is an area of outstanding beauty, part of the land that I grew up to love and admire in my home county. In the painting I wanted to convey the wildlife that has been seen there, you may have to look quite closely to find them all. To reach the waterfall, one must walk through ancient woodland, which rises above the North Cornwall coast. It is a magical place of faerie tales and legends, full of bird song and mystery. The area gets it’s name from the belief that Saint Nectan, a 6th-Century holy man, lived in a hermitage above the waterfall. As the legend goes, he would ring a silver bell when storny weather came to warn ships of the perilous rocks at the mouth of the nearby coastline, Rocky Valley.

Inspired by a moody walk across the sands, Bedruthan Steps was painted to reflect the watery reflections in the sand. With bold marks scratched in with a pallete knife, this painting has a lot of impact, drawing your eye in over the sands to the tactile looking rocks in the midground.
