“What are your biggest artistic influences?”
My biggest artistic influence is the landscapes and seascapes all around where I live. I find peace and happiness whilst out in the local environment, woodlands, the coast and up on the moors. I love creating expressive atmospheric paintings that portray my love of the landscape with oil on canvas.

“With reference to your painting ’Sea and Surf’ can you detail how you know a painting is complete?”
It is sometimes a challenge knowing when a painting is finished. If I’m not sure I’ll leave it for a couple of days and come back to it with fresh eyes. Also taking a photo of the painting is also a helpful tool. If the photo looks good then you know your painting is finished or nearly finished.

“What is it that you would like viewers to take from your work?”
I would like viewers of my work to see something in the painting that reminds them of happy times or a special memory or holiday. Each viewer could see something different and that’s what I love about painting the the way that I do.
