The tranquillity of a canal on a summer morning, bright skies, stillness and calm, its not yet too warm, and the dew is still on the ground. The birds are singing, chirping and going about their lives. The mountains stretch for miles in the distance. There’s nothing more pleasant and calming than a river, or a canal on a summers morning.
Taking inspiration from a hike I did a few years ago on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition in the Black Mountains, this painting depicts boats and canal boats nestled together on the water not far form Llangattock Warf on the Brecon Monmouthshire Canal.
