Marian Young ‘A Ripple on the Lake’
Marian Young
Marian’s semi abstract works are breath-taking in their simplicity and balance. Her colour choice is dictated by her intuitive choice for the day. Marian works without preliminary sketches preferring no pre-conceived ideas of the outcome.
Instead she lays ‘down colours of [her] choice that day and allow the flow and direction of paint to intuitively lead…to that ‘Sense of Place’ that I am subconsciously driven to.
I know the work is finished, when I feel I have achieved a sense of unity, balance and cohesion” – Marian Young
