My painting depicts a windy day at Kimmeridge Bay, Washing ledge refers to the double-band of dolomite with central parting of oil shale stretching out into the bay. Visitors can often be seen standing on the ledge rockpooling with nets and buckets.
In the distance on the hill is the Clavell Tower built in 1830 and out in the bay are windsurfers who reach incredible speeds when the conditions are right.
