Geoff Sellick ‘Blizzard Walk Snow’
Geoff Sellick
Geoff takes inspiration from the South Devon landscape where he has spent most of his life. Water is a common theme and he especially loves to capture the landscape’s changing light and colour. His paintings are impressions taken from his self-consciousness.
These works empower the viewer to ‘interpret their own imagery and stories behind the paintings’.
Originally Geoff had a 35 year career as a designer. His paintings are now an expression of newfound freedom no longer constrained by the practicalities of design.
‘Blizzard Snow Walk’ was painted in oil and cold wax medium on archival paper mounted on a wooden block. The use of oil and cold wax allows a greater freedom of expression. Geoff works by applying layers of oil and cold wax to slowly build up the painting, creating textures. To do this, he uses rollers, palette knives and spatulas. Then, areas are scraped away to reveal the hidden colours beneath.

Luella specialises in small watercolour cameo pieces and watercolour landscapes. She takes inspiration from the wonders of nature and is intrigued by both trees and water as subjects. She enjoys capturing the interplay of light and dark.
