I am a printmaker producing original fine art prints which include both intaglio and relief printing methods. I am interested in the mark making and endless possibility of effects that can be achieved with printmaking methods and techniques. The majority of my work is based on my experience gained through travel and the observations made. The subject matter that inspires my work includes architecture, people, crowds, cityscapes and landscapes.

PATRICK WHITEHEAD Etching and Aquaint on zinc plate and printed on White Somerset paper 300gsm
PATRICK WHITEHEAD A collagraph of Uluru at Night. Different textured wallpaper pasted onto mount board as well as carborundum grit to give the sky the deep tone and the image drawn using a scalpel. After which the plate is sealed using button varnish prior to printing. Printed on cream textured Somerset 300gsm Paper.
PATRICK WHITEHEAD Etching, aquatint and handcolouring. A combination of fine and coarse aquatint used for the stonework of the building. Etched onto a copper plate and printed on White Somerset 300gsm paper.
PATRICK WHITEHEAD Etched using a Dremel engraver on a thin metal plate. Basically, a drypoint etching, but using a Dremel rather than a steel scriber. Printed on White Somerset 300gsm Paper.
PATRICK WHITEHEAD Solar etching of wooden prayer messages at the Meiji Shrine. The image is worked into using a Dremel engraver and with carborundum grit. It is handcoloured with gold and silver ink. Printed on White Somerset 300gsm paper.
