Lucy is a 29 year old self-taught artist who currently lives in Dorset.
Lucy’s passion for art and animals goes back as long as she can remember. Lucy studied Animal Science and became a Zoo Keeper at Longleat Safari Park before combining her love for art with her love for animals in 2014. Lucy has been completing regular wildlife and pet commissions since.
From 2014 Lucy solely worked with acrylics; however, in 2017, Lucy was commissioned by her mother to complete a tigress in watercolour (which is now available as a print and greeting card). Lucy had stumbled into the world of watercolour and loved it.
In March 2018, Lucy’s watercolour of an adorable white rhino ‘Contemplation’ was selected and exhibited in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2018 competition. Lucy was thrilled as ‘Contemplation’ was exhibited and sold in The Mall Gallery in London.
In June 2020, Lucy officially launched Lucy Shapland Art showcasing her wildlife art, fine art Giclee prints and greetings cards.
In May 2021, Lucy participated in the Wylye Valley Art Trail exhibiting at the lovely Langford Lakes.
Lucy currently has a collection of watercolour wildlife art at the Bowridge Gallery in Gillingham for Dorset Art Weeks.
Lucy is also a regular exhibitor at Salisbury Art Scene events, which are currently held once a month in the Salisbury Market Place. A perfect opportunity to meet Lucy in person. More information can be found here - www.salisburyartsscene.co.uk
