Hilary Adair R.E

Hilary Adair is a painter and printmaker whose studio lies between Exmoor and the sea in West Somerset.

She studied Painting and Printmaking at  Brighton College of Art and at St.Martin’s  School of Art in London.

Her themes are landscape, gardens, interiors, archaeology and Greece, where she lived for many years .

Her ideas about life-and-art are expressed using watercolour, acrylic and oil paint, based on drawing and

Sketches, in a variety of sizes.   Also known as a printmaker she works mainly with etching techniques, linocut

and woodcut. Hilary was elected to the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers in 1991 based at the Bankside Gallery in London. Her paintings and prints are in many private and public collections and have been exhibited widely.
