Göran Hahne

Painter and lithographer Göran Hahne is acclaimed all over his native Scandinavia but less well-known in his adopted English county of Dorset. He had his first exhibition at the age of 14 in the National Library of Sweden, studied at the Graphic Design Arts College on the island of Lidingö, and learned his craft working in advertising in England and as a travelling landscape artist for Swedish publisher Grako Eskild Holm. Now living near Blandford, Göran is inspired by Dorset’s villages, traditional buildings, harbours and seascapes. He is also happy to take on commissions.

Göran’s lithographs, printed with 16 different colours for each picture, are enormously popular in Scandinavia but in Britain it is his distinctive watercolour style which is fast becoming popular. Following years of developing the technique, Göran uses masking tape to create an extraordinary mosaic effect with his work which gives it that distinctive contemporary look.
