David Charles Edwards
David Charles Edwards lives in Exeter, Devon. He is primarily a landscape artist who paints in a realistic style, trying to capture mood, atmosphere and light in his landscape work.
The focus of David’s current work is to walk the South West Coastal Footpath and record the journey through “plein air” sketches and more considered oil paintings back in his studio.
David started his walk from Minehead in Somerset in September 2019 and is following the highly acclaimed Paddy Dillon guidebook for walking the SW coast path. Unfortunately, Covid 19 temporarily interrupted this project. However, David is now back on track and intends to complete most of the 630-mile walk by the summer of 2022. It is David’s intention to offer a solo exhibition of his completed works at a number of gallery locations throughout the south west in 2023.
In the meantime, and when not walking, David continues with his commission works and painting landscapes locally and throughout the South West peninsular.
