Barbara Davis

Barbara's work is a personal response to a specific location, memory or collection of objects with special emphasis on the use of colour. Paintings are mostly made in the studio after much consideration and with reference to many sketchbooks containing memories and reference to things that have captured her imagination. The drawn, seen, remembered image is distilled to a more abstract form to create impact. Materials are acrylic, collage and oil pastel on canvas on paper, scraped into and applied using brushes and any mark making object to hand
