Tiverton Canal – Early Spring BY LUELLA GLOVER WILSON

Another small watercolour painting of the local canal near Tiverton in Devon.  The tow path is a wonderful place for walking, cycling, fishing, photography, wildlife observation – or just for sitting and gazing (maybe catching a Kingfisher flitting past or sitting, motionless, on a branch or the edge of a boat).  I use the canal to walk and reflect, to ground myself within a busy life.

The Grand Western Canal from Tiverton Road Bridge in early spring.  The trees are not yet in leaf but there is a faint hint of pinkish green amongst the branches. There is a promise of warmth and the banks are beginning to fill with vegetation.
