ALEXANDRA LAVIZZARI
A mixed media painting – acrylic and Chinese ink – of pink and white cherry blossoms seen from underneath trees and under a blue sky. Sakura, as the Japanese call their cherry blossoms, fills nearly the whole space of the artwork, which is deliberately kept simple – just a few hanging branches loaded with blossoms – so that the viewer can concentrate on the overall impression of spring‘s lushness.
The paint was applied on handmade Chinese paper which I then fixed on white board and set in a wooden white frame, leaving adequate space between the artwork and the frame.
This painting is uplifting and cheerful and looks great in a well lit modern room.
