Atmospheric soft pastel painting of a rural scene in winter with light snow falling. Two crows sit on the wire of a garden fence, and in the foggy afternoon light a third crow can be seen flying towards them to join them. This bird picture is all about calm, waiting and the moment. It has a reduced range of colours, it’s all in greys, brown, creams and black suggesting a cold winter day when nature is silent and everything seems to be on a standstill.
