Description
The colours of cliffs in the winter light inspired this work from Cape Cornwall. Annie takes her inspiration from the works of J.M.W. Turner and more recent work by Joan Eardley. Increasingly Annie is taking risks with her paintings and developing a more dynamic style akin to David Tress. Painted primarily using a palette knife and rags, Annie is able to imply and infer the textures of the landscape and the shadows on the water with deft strokes and mark making.
It is oil on card, framed in a white painted wooden St Ives frame. It is 35 x 35 cm framed without glass.
