Here´s some local history combined with some personal nostalgia. This painting illustrates a time before the development of the caravan site, although still instantly recognisable, when quite a lot of boats were used for fishing. The sheds have been extended and rebuilt several times since, a concrete slipway built and the wooden boats replaced with more modern boats.

For twenty five years my studio was located on the cliff top at Ladram Bay and it goes without saying that I spent a lot of time at this very location and know it very well.

Painted in a slightly impressionistic style but full of detail and realism.
