Representation of a neurone sending electrical impulses, and emitting chemicals across the synapses. Neuroscience informs us that our brains are hard-wired for survival and not happiness. During our evolution, in order to survive we needed to be vigilant for threats. So humans have developed a natural ‘negativity bias’ and our brains readily respond to negative experiences more than positive ones.
