Description

The ancient woods of the Blackdown Hills have inspired this painting of evening light filtering through the trees.  These ancient woodlands have been untouched for many years and consequently there are tangles of fallen branches and thick, almost impenetrable woodlands. Annie enjoys exploring these spaces and observing the way light falls on tree trunks and through the foliage. This oil painting captures the effect of early evening light in the woodland. Annie works mainly using a palette knife and rags adding layer upon layer of paint. In this painting she creates a highly textured surface through her varied mark making. This semi-abstract painting invites the viewer to explore deep into the woodland.

This painting is available unframed on a deep box canvas and is 40 x 40 cm.
