Description
Exmoor is a special place with its wild untamed grasses and heathers and views to distant fields and hedgerows. The contrast between the wild landscape and the tamed, farmed landscape is one of Annie’s favourite themes. She enjoys exploring the boundary between the two. This impressionist painting takes its inspiration from the works of J.M.W. Turner and more recent work by Joan Eardley. Much of the work is painted loosely with just a few details, such as hedgerows in the distance painted in more detail, inviting the viewer to look closely at the work. Painted primarily using a palette knife and rags, Annie is able to imply and infer the textures of the landscape with deft strokes and mark making.
This oil painting is 29.5 cm x 21 cm x 3.5 cm, painted on a deep box canvas and available unframed.
