  • A PAUSE IN HISTORY BY LISA PARKYN

    £500.00

Created as part of ‘Delving Beneath Series’ – a body of work started during 2020 pandemic lockdown, which has helped me make sense of the shifts going on around the world and reflect on what is meaningful in life.

I tapped into my love for the unique textures that occur in nature, on weathered walls, old billboards and rusting metal – the scars of time, symbolising memories and keepsakes.

Exploring the process of adding and subtracting until a balance is found. Using various methods of layering and piecing together fragments through mixed media and then scraping, sanding and peeling off – metaphorically delving deeper to discover what lies beneath and our hidden strengths.

    Framed size 35 x 35cm
    Image size 30.5 x 30.5cm
Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel.
Ready to hang in an off-white tray frame.
The painting is initialed on the front, signed on the back and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

  • WHISPERS IN THE MIST BY LISA PARKYN

    £1,700.00

Inspired by coastal visits here in the SW of England, this abstract seascape is an interpretation of the calmer weather days at the coast – reflections on the sand, sea spray and mist rising with a suggestion of a mast – perhaps metaphoric of the voyages we take in this lifetime.

    Framed size 74 x 74cm
    Image size 60 x 60cm
Acrylic, ink and pastel on panel.
Ready to hang in an elegant off-white frame.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

  • PLAYGROUND OF THE SOUL BY LISA PARKYN

    £1,700.00

With this bold piece I used a limited colour palette inspired by a gorgeous tarnished copper pipe that my son gave me (see pic) left-over from his chemistry experiment – he used it as an ion donator for plating in case you wondered.

I started with black ink mark-making on the gessoed panel to create movement to respond to. I then enjoyed creating lots of collage papers using gelli plate printing followed by cutting up and piecing together fragments of the collage and newspaper and finally drawing over it. I love this process of adding and subtracting until a balanced composition is found.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

    Framed size 63 x 63cm
    Image size 60 x 60cm
Acrylic, ink, collage, transfers, pastel, charcoal, graphite and markers on panel.
Ready to hang in an off-white tray frame.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

  • HONEYMOON IN THE WILD BY LISA PARKYN

    £500.00

Another vibrant abstract piece inspired by coast and countryside walks here in the South West of England. Devon is a far cry from the wilds of my African roots. I draw inspiration from the untamed, exquisite landscape surrounding me here – the vastness of Dartmoor, the energetic rivers, wildflowers and the Jurassic coastline with its history and crumbling cliffs.
I create a rich surface texture by building up layers then scraping, sanding and drawing back into these until a balance in composition is found.

    Framed size 44.5 x 44.5cm
    Image size 30.5 x 30.5cm
Acrylic, ink, charcoal and china markers on wood panel.
Ready to hang in an off-white frame.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

  • PIECES OF US BY LISA PARKYN

    £700.00

Layers upon layers create a wonderfully rich surface in this painting and I love the hints of colour peeking through where I have sanded. A figure emerges and it seems symbolic to me about what we as women carry and hold in this lifetime, the pieces of us and the beauty in the scars of time. The roles we embody as daughters, sisters, mothers, friends, wives, grandmothers etc and the messages we’re told by others including the media on what it is to be a women and how we rework this in being our true selves.

    Framed size 54.5 x 44.5cm
    Image size 40.5 x 30.5cm
Acrylic, ink, transfer, collage, pastel, charcoal and china marker on canvas board.
Ready to hang in an elegant off-white frame.
The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

  • ALLOW YOURSELF TO GROW BY LISA PARKYN

    £900.00

Part of ongoing flower studies and exploration focussing on mark-making where I attempt to capture the essence and character of each flower and vase – like an equisite symphony but with line and marks the visual notes encapsulated.

    Image size 49 x 61cms
    Framed size 64 x 76cms (approx)
Charcoal, charcoal powder, pastel and graphite on Fabriano paper.
Mounted and framed behind glass – ready to hang with wire.
    Signed on the front.

  • HEART FULL OF SUMMER BY LISA PARKYN

    £500.00

I absolutely love this colourful and quirky abstract by life here in the South West of England. With my background in design and with work on wood panel, I enjoy exploring the process of adding and subtracting until a balance of composition is found. I utilise various methods of adding texture, layering and piecing together fragments through mixed media and then scraping, sanding and peeling off to discover hidden gems and create a rich surface history.

The painting is signed on the back so that the collector can decide which orientation they prefer. The surface is protected with UV safe varnish.

    Image size 30.5 x 30.5cm
    Framed size 39 x 39cm

Acrylic, collage, transfer and pastel on panel.
Ready to hang in an off-white tray frame.

  • WAS I DREAMING? BY LISA PARKYN

    £3,000.00

Inspired by the exquisite sunsets here in the South West of England, I’ve tried to capture the energy, essence and emotion experienced – like an exquisite symphony with colour, line and marks the visual notes encapsulated.

    Image size 100 x 100cms
Acrylic on 4cm deep canvas, sides painted grey. Unframed, but could be framed.

The painting is signed on the front and the surface is protected with UV safe varnish.
