Viv Styles enjoys printing from wood engravings, lino and wood cuts, as well as collagraph and drypoint etching. She is primarily a printmaker but finds drawing and painting are essential preparation for the process. Living in Bovey Tracey on the eastern fringe of Dartmoor, Viv finds inspiration from the landscape but is equally happy to work indoors on still life. Viv has found the Lewis chess pieces in the British Museum to be a great source of inspiration and is producing a series of wood engravings of these timeless figures.
