Susan Worker, a fine artist, spent her early life near to the sea, both in Australia where she emigrated with her family in the 1960s, returning six years later to settle in south west England. As a child, she has always been fascinated by nature and would always paint from her imagination.
Her distinctive, personal style captures the vibrant spirit that nature, wildlife and landscapes have to offer. Susan works in a variety of mediums including acrylics, watercolour and oil pastels but her speciality is gouache and water-soluble pencils. She chooses the medium to suit the subject matter.
After completing her diploma in Art & Design, she opted to concentrate on Fashion as a career choice and went on to earn an Honours degree in Fashion. She spent twelve years in London, travelling extensively to India, China and much of Europe to source fabrics, place designs with factories and QC production.
After her son was born, Susan set up and successfully ran her online children’s wear company for six years. Designing and making beach robes and dressing gowns for ages two to twelve. She sold her business six years ago.
Susan now lives and works near Bath, UK with her husband and son. She has only recently picked up her beloved pencils again after winning a local Art Competition for the second year in a row. More recently, she became involved with the Art Challenge Lockdown, devised by The Arts Quarter, submitting a single piece of art every day for nearly 3 months.
