Based in Bristol, Nancy’s colourful, contemporary paintings are inspired by natural forms, textures and light resulting in acrylic paintings that exude optimism. She says:
“I try to capture the essence of an object rather than a literal interpretation so I might make palette knives from recycled plastic to capture a poppy’s papery petals, or use needles to paint a dandelion.”
Nancy began her artistic endeavour at an early age, but academic studies took over and she worked in the charity sector for 30 years before devoting more time to painting. Encouraged by fellow artists and tutors at St Ives School of Painting, she began exhibiting her paintings in 2019.
Her work has quickly caught the eye of collectors and can be found in private collections as far afield as New York, Jerusalem and Australia. Nancy sells work directly and her work can be found in galleries across the UK.
