This exhibition celebrates the work of 17 diverse artists, featuring both abstract and semi- abstract works. Artists use shape, form, colour and gestural marks to achieve their desired effect, rather than a realistic depiction of the subject matter.
Martin Bush’s acrylic oil painting ‘The colour of nature’ is full of vivid hues. His use of broad, expressive brush strokes brings to mind energy and growth. Demetri Tsouris, in his work ‘Pink skies-orange fields’ uses gestural brush strokes to achieve a spontaneous effect that is expressive – evoking emotion in the viewer. Daniel Loveday, in ‘Illuminate XVII’, makes use of extensive symbols – rendered in both shape and colour to depict aspects of existence and imagination.
