YVONNE DOLLOWAY : FEATURED ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Yvonne Dolloway loves bold colours and atmosphere which you can see in her work.

“Surf Up”

Can you tell us more about your practice and your artistic background?

I have been privileged  to have lived in some of the most  beautiful places, Cornwall, France, Scotland and Devon

What draws you to depicting  seascapes, in particular the subject matter of  ‘Widemouth Bay’? “

I am a partially sighted self taught artist who began to paint 12 years ago while living on the shores of the Moray Firth in Scotland.  It was the wide open spaces and rugged coastline  very like the Cornish coastline that inspired me.

“Poppies Talk”

What are the challenges associated when painting flowers generally and more specifically your painting ‘Poppies Talk’

My first love are seascapes the rocks wet sand and  the reflections with dramatic skies.  Closely followed by my interpretation of flowers, I love bold colours and atmosphere and I try to evoke this in my work.
